Raw: Being in or nearly in the natural state. Beekeeping: The maintenance of honey bees. Our mission/goal is to raise honey bees in or nearly in their natural state. We do not dictate the cell size with foundation, instead we allow the bees to make their own comb with the size of cells they naturally desire to make. We do not use chemicals to control diseases or pests. Once a hive is established and has produced its own honey we only feed it in times of dearth when it has insufficient reserves of its own. In nature some hives survive and some do not, in our apiaries we allow the same to happen. The end result is strong, healthy bees that can endure the pests, diseases, and survive the winters better.
